Kent Kirk, Denmark’s former Minister of Fisheries, has via the company, West Marine A/S, invested in the technology company, Wind Power LAB, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to detect wind turbine blade defects.

By using AI, Wind Power LAB automates an otherwise heavy workflow that could eventually result in loss of green electricity production. Wind Power LAB’s development will continue in the future, both within wind turbines blades, as well as within other parts of the wind turbine industry and joint venture industry collaborations, “said Kent Kirk, former shareholder of Esbjerg based shipping company, ESVAGT A/S, which was sold for DKK 4.1 billion back in 2015.
